I haven’t bought a CD in years so it was complete accident I came across the front cover of Empire of the Sun’s album (it was on Spotify). It’s possibly the best album art I’ve ever seen, I can’t even express how much I think it rocks:
It’s got tigers, the future – all the elements of success. I really hope the band look like that in real life.
Ha! I saw these dudes through a haze of flu last week on some music channel or other. I’m pleased to announce that they really dress like that *and* their video is set in the desert and has lots of wise looking Native Americans and such looking all meaningful and stuff.
They are also total, unmitigated dogshit.
Carps, don’t you know that music is all about image? If you wear tight trousers, have big hair and some spangles fame is literally guaranteed. That’s where you’ve been going wrong all these years. Forget musical talent and rambling, Morrisey-esque lyrical genius. Get thee a military uniform from an imaginary galactic navy and learn to wear make-up.
